Our Story

David and Emily met at the cafeteria at Cedarville University, thanks to a mutual friend. They continued to eat lunch with a group of friends for much of the year.

At the beginning of the year, both David and Emily were on campus early for work. While he was supposed to be helping new students move in, David ran into Emily and the two began talking. Four hours later, the two finally went their separate ways.

After spending much of the day hanging out together, David finally worked up the courage and asked Emily out to dinner. Fortunately, she said yes!

The two went out on their first date to Choe's Asian Gourmet and afterwards went to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Despite Emily telling David in September that she didn't want to date until at least the second semester, the two had been spending all their time either talking or texting together. So David went ahead and asked Emily to be his girlfriend and she happily agreed.

Emily went home to David's house for the weekend, in order to "celebrate her birthday early" with David's family. They decided to go for a walk through some nearby woods. After a bit of walking, they stopped to rest at a bench by a stream. After talking for a while, David pulled a box from his pocket and got down on one knee... And she said yes!

David and Emily went on their first vacation together, with David's family, to Sanibel Island, Florida. They spent time on the beach, in the pool and went on plenty of walks on the island. Although leaving was bittersweet, they realized the next time they would be walking on a beach, they would be getting married!
